Conservation First: How Your Safari Supports Local Communities

Conservation First: How Your Safari Supports Local Communities

Tourism as a Force for Good

At Tanzania Travel & Safari Company, we operate on a simple principle: tourism must actively preserve the environments and support the communities it visits. In East Africa, where human-wildlife conflict is a constant challenge, the only way to protect wilderness is to ensure local communities benefit directly from conservation.

Here are the three core initiatives that 100% of our safari proceeds support:

1. Maasai Women's Beadwork Cooperative

We partner with Maasai communities in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to support a cooperative of over 80 women artisans. By facilitating direct sales of their traditional beadwork to our guests and funding training programs, we help provide a stable source of independent income for Maasai families.

2. The Solar Savanna Project

For every guest booking, we fund one solar home light kit for rural households bordering Serengeti National Park. These simple kits provide clean, safe solar lighting for children to study at night, replacing toxic and expensive kerosene lamps.

3. Ranger Support & Anti-Poaching

We directly sponsor anti-poaching patrols and snare-removal units operated by local community conservancies. By creating employment for local youth as wildlife rangers, we turn potential poaching threats into active conservation protectors.
