Day 01: Arrive in Arusha.

Arrive in Arusha (time and means of transport to be advised), meet and greet by a Tanzania travel company driver guide before being transferred to your overnight lodge in Arusha.

Dinner and overnight at Point Zone Resort – HB

www.pointzoneresort.co.tz

Pick up from your overnight lodge / Hotel, head west out of Arusha, and drive (2.00 – 2.5 hrs) to Tarangire National Park.

“Tarangire boasts a vast number of baobabs that first capture the eye as you enter Tarangire National Park. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. Tarangire National Park covers approximately 2,600 square kilometers and, in the dry season, is second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife. The park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of elephants gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains, when they migrate again to new grazing areas”. Picnic Lunch en route, later afternoon drive to Karatu town for overnight.

Dinner and overnight at Suricata Boma Lodge – D, B, L

Early morning breakfast, depart for Arusha via   Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing.

Lake Manyara Park offers a blend of woodland, open bush, and lake. The Mahogany and Sausage Trees are alive with blue monkeys and velvets. Elephants feed off fallen fruit, while bushbuck, waterbuck, baboons, aardvark, civet, the shy pangolin, and leopard all make their home in the forest.  Lake Manyara is a magnet for birdlife, and a kaleidoscope of different species can be found around its shores, including huge flocks of flamingos. The large variety of mammals, reptiles, birds, and the different types of vegetation, all within a small area, make Lake Manyara a diverse and particularly memorable place to visit”. Picnic lunch en route.

Witness the magnificent array of habitats, each with its own unique wildlife and flora. Take time out to stretch your legs and enjoy a picnic lunch at Ngoitokitok Springs, watching the hippos jostle for position in the water. Today you are going to have the Mto wa Mbu cultural tour.

During this half-day tour, you will get a chance to meet the local inhabitants of Mto wa Mbu and see how they provide for themselves. Part of the tour is experiencing how Tanzania’s lands are farmed and how its products are processed. You’ll learn about the uses of different bananas and get a chance to try Tanzania’s very own banana beers, a local brewery of the Chagga tribe.

Furthermore, we learn about some other unique trades and craftsmanship that are only practiced by certain tribes in Tanzania, like the wood-carving skills of the Makonde tribe. You’ll also get a chance to visit a local school and church to see what daily life in Tanzania looks like.

Note that there are many variations of this tour, as there’s so much to see and to do. So the actual tour might be a little different from the description above, as there are a lot of options to choose from. If you let us know beforehand, we can visit places that interest you specifically.

Maasai Boma Visit: Visit a real Maasai boma and see the lifestyle of this legendary tribe up close. Along with the guided tour of the boma and an introduction to the local Maasai population. Tribesmen will offer to paint traditional tattoos for visitors and even let them milk their prized cows
