Maasai trek safari Tanzania is a tailor made itinerary for walking lovers and above all, people who love to meet authentic local people in Tanzania . in this matter for only three days with us you will be able to meet a mix of three very strong tribes in Tanzania namely the Maasai tribe, Meru tribe who reside under the Longido and Meru mountains and the Chagga tribe who reside under the highest Mountain in Africa, the only free standing mountain in Africa The Kilimanjaro mountain.
Our Tingatinga Maasai camp will give you a unique opportunity to meet with the real Maasai people who are still life in their traditions. You will be able to experience their culture, what they eat, and how they manage their daily life. The walking around the area will leave you speechless with the richness of flora and fauna in the area. Your tent in the middle of nowhere will be overlooking the Kilimanjaro Mountain on the western side of Kilimanjaro where most people who climb using the Lemosho wilderness route. In the morning, you will be worked up with the cup of tea from our staff with the birds songs around you. Our wilderness camping meals are best compared to none.
Our Maasai gossip around the African campfire in the evening gives you an opportunity to hear more about the Maasai and Meru culture with an opportunity to read all the stars above the skies of the Maasai land. While conducting your walking, you will be flagged with different types of birds and few games around the area including Elephants, zebras, gerenuk and Giraffes who sometimes approach the camp to pay a visit to newcomers in the area. After two days at Tingatinga Maasai camp, you will drive towards south to the foot of mount Meru for your armed guided day walking safari in the selected areas in the park. This will take you 2-3 hours before you have your picnic lunch.
Masai culture experience, mount Kilimanjaro close views, trekking in the wilderness Masai land, Masai school visit, Arusha national park nature walk, birds watching, game viewing and meeting locals.
Day 0. Arrival in Tanzania
Meet and greet by your safari and walking guide and transfer to Arusha. Later on the briefing will be conducted before your safari.
Meals and Overnight in planet Lodge Arusha Full board.
Day 1. Drive and trek at tinga-tinga Masai village.
Breakfast at the Lodge.
Transfer to Tingatinga Maasai Village with fascinating views of mount Kilimanjaro with lucky days when the sky is clear. before arriving at the village about 5 miles you will leave the car and meet your Maasai guide for the trek to the village.
On arrival at the village, you will visits the Tingatinga primary school, meet with teachers and students. experience how teachers are teaching and the general life of Maasai students.
Later on drive to your wilderness camp for Lunch.
After lunch an afternoon siesta followed by guided walk around the camp. with views of mount Kilimanjaro, mount Meru and mountain Longido. late afternoon returns back to your camp for evening tea with popcorn.
Evening shower and there after the meet at the fireplace for a Maasai talk ( lomoni) at the camp.
Dinner and Overnight at Tingatinga wilderness mobile Camp – Full Board.
Day 2. Authentic Masai experience tour.
Breakfast at the camp.
Full day activities at the Tingatinga Village.
These activities will include Walking safari in the TingaTinga Maasai Land, Maasai Boma visit,
Lunch at the camp.
Dinner and Overnight at Tingatinga Camp – Full Board accommodation.
Day 3. Arusha national park day safari.
Early Breakfast at Camp.
Morning drives to Arusha National Park.
Half day walking safari in the Arusha National Park.
Accompanied by the national park’s armed Ranger for your safety and also will provide you with explanations about the park . He will also guide you around the park.
Depending on the game availability you will descend through Meru Crater. Main attractions in this area include Ngarenanyuki River, the Buffalo Glade, this is a natural glade that consists of marsh, bushes and streams. The Fauna found here includes; buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes.
Break for a bush lunch then continue with the nature walk through the Momella-Tululusia Waterfalls trail. This falls will be rewarding scenery, it is about 28meters high. The steep gorge walls were created by falls itself are a home to the Red-winged Starlings. The Tululusia hill provides an excellent view of the lower areas of Arusha NP and the Kilimanjaro mountain. While trekking along this trail, you should expect to see wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, Colobus monkeys, red duiker, suni, leopard, and python among others.
Late afternoon drives to back to Arusha or similar for your Overnight. Full Board.
